Retail: stronger together
At a time when retail must reinvent itself, brands have everything to gain by joining forces: coming together under one roof increases foot traffic and multiplies reasons to visit.
Spanning 13,000 m², Marché Dar Essalam is a mixed-use destination in the heart of Rabat, bringing together a fresh food market, fashion and beauty brands, restaurants, and cultural offerings.
A unique address in Morocco, it blends multiple experiences — much like hybrid concept stores such as 86Champs (Pierre Hermé x L’Occitane) or the Uniqlo x Fnac collaboration in Paris’s Montparnasse district.
Within this modern hall, set on the grounds of a former orange grove, Saguez & Partners designed the three fashion spaces: Sèves for adults, Madd for teens, and Lilme for children.

Inspired by indoor-outdoor architecture
North of Casablanca, in Rabat, the new residential district of Souissi has grown with housing, hotels, and schools, but it was missing a true city center. The Marché Dar Essalam now fills that role, becoming the connecting hub. Designed by Patrick Genard & Asociados, the cross-shaped building takes inspiration from traditional Moroccan agricultural structures, while optimizing circulation flow. Thanks to its 70% glazed façades, the interior of the hall opens generously onto the outside, flooding the space with natural light.
Spanning 12,700 m², the market hall brings together everyday retail and essential services. Its curated, premium offering includes a carefully selected mix of fashion, beauty, fresh food, dining, and cultural experiences. In line with the building’s nature-forward architectural approach, Saguez & Partners designed three multi-brand spaces tailored to every age, from babies to adults. Clothing, accessories, footwear... A complete lifestyle offering, all under one roof.
“Today, location and architecture are also powerful drivers of desire. This is a singular place, striking yet welcoming, that makes you want to come and stay. A place fully open to nature and its surrounding neighborhood.” - Boris Gentine, Creative Director & Partner, Saguez & Partners
An architectural layout designed to adapt and grow
The masterplan prioritizes clarity and fluid circulation. Modular by design, the spaces are built to adapt, to shifting uses, changing needs, and seasonal renewals. This layout brings energy to the space, with an offering that's always in motion. A collection of custom-designed, flexible furniture by the agency further reinforces this principle of adaptability.
The adult fashion space draws inspiration from the site’s historic orangery and the lush, ever-present plant life.
Hospitality in retail
Inspired by hospitality codes, the interior design puts comfort and service at the heart of the shopping experience. No more harsh lighting and cramped fitting rooms. Here, they’re replaced by generous fitting salons, open to the garden and bathed in natural light. A furniture reuse partnership with Selency, adds warmth and character, while reinforcing the project’s commitment to sustainability. Textiles and sheer curtains, used to soften acoustics and filter sunlight, create a warm, intimate atmosphere throughout.
Madd is the teen space: naturally urban and offbeat.
Lilmi: soft, gentle, and made for little ones.
Three brands, one shared story
SEVÈS | ADULTS | “FASHION GARDEN” | 700 M²
A centerpiece of the marketplace, Sèves is a premium multi-brand concept store for women and men, designed as a go-to fashion destination for everyday life. Its visual identity is fluid and organic, inspired by leaves and the natural world. Inside, the space features a double-height, open-through layout that connects directly to the surrounding gardens. Circulation flows around a central service hub and a seasonal aisle that evolves throughout the year. Natural materials, vintage furniture, and botanical-inspired wool rugs create an immersive, welcoming environment, all elevated by Patrick Nadeau’s sculptural installation, a striking vegetal gesture at the heart of the space.
MADD | TEENS | “URBAN JUNGLE” | 100 M²
Madd offers teenagers a space of their own, bold, urban, and playfully offbeat. Its strong, graphic logo reflects that attitude. Inside, raw materials like concrete, metal, stainless steel, and iridescent neon lighting set the tone. A 20-meter-long graphic wall anchors the space, while accessories are displayed with a sense of humor, from the “cap fridge” to the outdoor pop-up area housed in a vintage Peugeot 504, hosting guest brands throughout the year.
LILMI | KIDS & BABIES | “POETIC NURSERY” | 100 M²
Lilmi is a soft, nurturing world designed at a child’s height and pace. At its heart stands a magical tree, around which unfolds a pastel palette of soft greens, terracotta, and powder pinks. Playful furniture and creative zones, from crayon tables to hands-on activity areas, spark imagination while parents browse.
Its playful, climbing-letter logo evokes little ones exploring the space, as they would a playground.
