A new signature in the city

Tramway Line 9 is the first tramway designed entirely by the Île-de-France Region for the people of Île-de-France. The simplicity of its curves and its exterior cladding, which features a continuous light signature, ensure its harmonious integration into the urban landscape. A lighting scenario informing passengers of the opening, closing and departure of the trains was devised to secure the flow of traffic, but also to limit stopping times at stations, thus improving the frequency with which the trains pass.

A design focused on use and comfort

Inside too, light is diffused. It enhances the passenger experience by orientating passengers in the trains, and providing comfort, safety and well-being. The lines are harmonious, and the colors are soft and soothing, allowing passengers to enjoy the scenery through the large windows. Last but not least, each passenger can plug in to the USB sockets, positioned next to their seat, to recharge their cell phone during their journey.

**More than just a means of transport, we have conceived the new tramway as a veritable mobile micro-architecture. In addition to improving the daily lives of tens of thousands of passengers through new uses and a high level of comfort, its distinctive design is marked by an ambitious lighting signature, both inside and out. It’s a new form of mobility that fits in with the neighborhoods it passes through, a new signal that helps to enliven the city. “Jean-Philippe Cordina, Creative Director.
