Nature & Découvertes

A natural breath of fresh air

Founded in 1990, Nature & Découvertes was a forerunner in terms of commercial responsibility, civic commitment and respect for nature. Its first stores were already veritable “oases of nature” in the city. Today, the brand has 93 stores and is opening a 500 m² concept store in one of Paris’s most urban districts.

Nature & Découvertes takes root in Le Marais

Doing business differently

In a former 1950s printing works, the brand has set up shop in a loft-like setting. The natural light diffused by the 10-meter-high veranda roof reaching down to the basement, the hanging plants, the view of the outside plant wall, the gradation of earth-rain colors from floor to ceiling, imbue the entire space with a sense of nature. Raw materials – wood, stone, porcelain stoneware, ropes, sawmill planks – reinforce the authenticity of the space. The store is no longer just a place to sell, but a place for relationships."

An unusual place for those curious about nature

The furniture is designed in a spirit of recycling and committed outdoor living: outdoor items, hooks, shelves, crates, pillars strapped to wooden crates. On the ceiling, tool sheds, ladders, ropes and illuminated globes hang from rails. The brand reinterprets nature and travel with creativity and imagination. The products are displayed in modular furniture: boxes and nesting tables on wheels, pedestals with metal hooks. Created by 3A Agencement, the furniture is reminiscent of thick, powerful lumberjack furniture. A place of passions and encounters with the adviser-guides, the herbal tea area invites customers to relax, escape and share.

JJ Pigeon, inspired artist

Right from the entrance, the monumental and dreamlike sculpture by Jean-Jacques Pigeon questions the relationship between man and nature. Made from branches gathered in the forest, the colorful work literally steps out of the frame to create a link between the outside and the inside.

“Doing business differently, offering human connection, knowledge, inspiration, beauty: helping urban people reconnect with nature.”
