How do you translate the power and authenticity of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc into a strong, unifying visual identity? Saguez & Partners redesigned the image of this legendary destination, bringing Chamonix and its four villages together under a single brand.
Uniting an exceptional region under a strong brand
The challenge was to unite Chamonix and its four villages – Les Houches, Vallorcine, Servoz and Argentière – while integrating iconic sites such as the Mer de Glace, Aiguille du Midi and Mont-Blanc. Drawing inspiration from the area’s spectacular history and geography, Saguez & Partners designed a visual identity to match this exceptional destination.
Vertical & Horizontal: a duality that shapes identity
Chamonix is at the crossroads of two dimensions:
- The verticality of sharp peaks, vertiginous slopes and the striking face-to-face encounter between man and mountain.
- The horizontality of a valley that stretches out, linking the villages of Servoz and Vallorcine and offering a diversity of routes and panoramas.
The logo embodies this duality. Inspired by the M of Mont-Blanc, it evokes both the power and prestige of a natural fortress.
The Spirit of Chamonix: between tradition and modernity
The visual identity is based on a palette of emblematic colors:
- Red for the cable car, shutters and tramway, symbolizing dynamism and heritage.
- Granite grey, reminiscent of cliffs and raw rock.
- Snow white, reflecting the purity and immensity of the Alps.
Contemporary typography combines with a powerful iconographic universe:
- Magnificent panoramic views, in black and white or four-color process, sublimating the immensity of the landscapes.
- Dynamic framing, playing on contrasts and focus to convey the energy of the place.
- The absence of characters, which lets the grandeur of nature fully express itself and invite you to escape.
With this redesigned identity, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc asserts its unique character: timeless and contemporary, powerful and inspiring.
