How to reinvent the office and attract talent?
Every two years, the Actineo Barometer provides an in-depth analysis of workspace trends in France. On March 13, Actineo previewed the results of its study at Saguez & Partners’ Manufacture Design, prior to its official presentation to the general public. As a partner, we present a summary of the key trends of the 2025 edition.
Don’t mess with my telecommute, I still love my office
Telecommuting has become the norm, and it’s hard to go back: 49% of working people say they would leave their company if the possibility of teleworking were taken away (vs. 64% of GenZ). And yet, 82% of them say how much they appreciate meeting up with their colleagues when they come into the office.
Telecommuting may not have killed the office, but it is forcing it to reinvent itself. The office is no longer simply a place of production; it is becoming a place of cooperation, encouraging teamwork without forgetting the individual, and meeting high expectations in terms of concentration. It is also becoming a place of well-being and conviviality. Finally, it must become a place of creativity, with varied, welcoming spaces that “don’t feel like an office”. 26% of GenZ want spaces that vary according to their mood (vs. 12% on average).
Happiness at work: the place creates the link
93% of employees satisfied with their workspace say they are satisfied with their quality of life at work (vs. 82% on average). This figure proves the direct impact of the physical environment on employee well-being and motivation. What’s more, 49% of working people say that benefiting from a space linked to “nature” (outdoor space, natural light, vegetation...) makes them want to come (back) to the office.
The company is now a hybrid place that goes beyond work: services boost motivation. 47% of working people see this as a key benefit (+6 points compared to 2022), and 24% of GenZ come to the office for this.

More ethical and responsible workplaces
The findings of the Actineo 2025 Barometer also highlight the importance of the societal dimension in office design. 42% of working people consider it a priority to make premises more energy-efficient, and second-hand furniture is favored by 66% of them (and 73% of those under 35). And 64% of them say “yes” to recycled furniture, even if it means giving up the latest innovations.

The Actineo Barometer in brief:
The Actineo Barometer of quality of life at work is an initiative of Ameublement français, with the support of CODIFAB and in partnership with Saguez & Partners. The 2025 survey was conducted by Sociovision, part of the IFOP group. The representative survey, based on the quota method, was administered to 1,500 office workers.
